School holidays are almost at an end. I hope you have enjoyed the fantastic weather and the opportunity to spend some extra time together as a family. I spent some time away camping with my children and am now refreshed and ready for another term with the wonderful students in LA31.
We have an exciting term planned, with the Legends of Landsdale cross-country competition, excursions, incursions, the winter lightning carnival and student reports. We will continue to learn about culture this term, with an extra emphasis on Australian Indigenous culture.
On that topic, the children should now be almost finished collecting information for their culture project. They have had a month to conduct their research and their ‘jot notes’ are due this Tuesday. The expectation is that each student will have an organised set of notes relating to their country by the start of term (see here for the list of topics that should be covered). They are NOT, however, expected to have their entire project completed. Time will be allocated in class for students to convert their notes into a finished project.
See you on Tuesday! (Monday is a pupil-free day with classes for students beginning on Tuesday 7 May).
